根据国家林草局北移大象工作指导组消息：昨天晚上8点左右，象群在工作人员的引导下顺利跨过元江，平安回归适宜栖息地。

野生亚洲象是热带雨林的珍稀物种，属于国家A级保护动物，其中大部分分布在中国云南省。近些年来我国加强了自然环境和野生动物保护工作，野生亚洲象种群的数量已经从增长到多。
